Adam to Queen Elizabeth II

Adam to Queen Elizabeth II Video

Ancestry of the Queen back to King Alfred the Great and then back to Adam according to the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle.

Scroll down for "The Significance of Queen Elizabeth II"

Many people don’t realise that the descent of the English Scottish, Irish,Welsh and Scandinavian kings can be traced back to Noah, and consequently to Adam. Such works as the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, the Welsh Chronicle (attributed to Nennius), the History of the Kings of Britain by Geoffrey of Monmouth, Asser’s Life of King Alfred and the Icelandic Prose Edda, give genealogies of royal lines.

This is important for us to be aware of as the information these works were based upon came from  a pre-Christian era.  Thus we know that some knowledge of their ancestry has always existed in the people of Europe and there are remarkable similarities between some of these genealogies and the genealogies we get from the table of nations in the Book of Genesis in the bible.

As an example we shall look at the ancestry of Queen Elizabeth II going back through the line of Alfred the Great and using the Anglo Saxon Chronicle to take us back to Adam, the first man. I am also using Asser’s Life of King Alfred as a reference.

The first table follows the first nineteen generations as listed in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. The Chronicle sometimes contradicts itself. This list is taken from a list of antecedents of Alfred the Great given in the narrative for year A.D. 854.

Asser’s “Life of Alfred the Great” follows the Chronicle very closely except that it calls Noah’s son Sceaf, Seth. This person must be Japheth from the Book of Genesis. Noah is only recorded as having three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth. Shem was the father of the Semitic peoples. Ham went south to Africa. The European peoples were fathered by Japheth.

The next Table starts with someone called Geat. Both Nennius and Asser refer to this person, also called Geta, as a false God who was worshipped by the pagans. However he was clearly an important person as he was the father of the Geats, sometimes called Goths. They inhabited Götaland (“land of the Geats”) in Southern Sweden. Beowulf, hero of the epic old English poem, was a Geat.

Also in the table we see Woden which is the old English version of the Norse Odin. Another pagan God who was also an actual historical person.

Later on we come to Cerdic who is often referred to as the first king of the Anglo-Saxons.

The next table takes us down through the line of the kings of Wessex to Alfred the Great. The only English or British monarch to be given the title “Great”.

Alfred’s life is recorded by a Welsh monk called Asser who Alfred employed in an attempt to bring a higher level of education to the English people. He was concerned about the general level of illiteracy and lack of knowledge of the bible among his people and saw this as the reason for the many problems that beset them. He was forced to spend most of his reign fighting the Viking invasion but at heart he was a pious man who desired to grow in wisdom and understanding. He was generous to his enemies and regularly attempted to baptise the Viking enemies he defeated who then regularly went on to double cross him.

This is part of a  manuscript (ca. 1488) which is an incomplete genealogical text. It begins by listing the biblical lineages. The second part follows the history of the descendants of Brutus and the final part lists the kings of Britain following Geoffrey of Monmouth's work. National Library of Wales, CC0, via Wikimedia Commons.

The following tables take the story up to the present day and Her Majesty the Queen. The information can be gleaned from any good encyclopedia. From the time of Alfred dates become more accessible as we move into modern history.

This process can be repeated for all the royal houses of the British Isles which is something I would like to publish on the site if I ever get the time. Prior to the 17th Century such genealogies were commonplace in Europe and provided a continuous record of history back to creation. It was only later that so called “rationalism” decided they were not valid records

So we see that eighty seven generations can be counted from Adam and Eve up to Her Majesty the Queen. Obviously the number of generations will be slightly different depending on which royal line you go back through. You can get the charts of Adam to Queen Elizabeth in PDF form on the web page Useful Charts 1. https://www.prophecy-workshop.com/useful-charts

The important point is that it really shows us how short the time is since creation and that should remind us of how little time we have until the Lord returns. If you are reading this and do not know the Lord then make the decision now to ask Him into your life while you still have time.

The queen’s reign was significant in terms of bible prophecy because Great Britain is Tyre and Tarshish in Bible prophecy. There is a page on the website called “Great Britain is Tarshish” explaining this.

Isaiah chapter 23:15-16 states the following:

[Isa 23:15-16 KJV] 15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. 16 Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.

The queen reigned for 70 years. Prophetic years are measured in years of 360 days. The queen reigned for 25,300 days which is 70 prophetic years plus 100 days. I don’t know why the Lord gave her the extra 100 days. Perhaps because in the bible the number 100 represents wholeness or fullness. For example a hundredfold denotes what is full or or good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over (Luke 6:38). The queen ran her full course. She could truly say

[2Ti 4:7 KJV] 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:

In her life she was always respectful of people whether high or low. She sowed respect and received an amazing outpouring of reverence on her death. Even Vladimir Putin was annoyed not to be invited to the funeral. As it says in Proverbs:

[Pro 16:7 KJV] 7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

During the queen’s reign Great Britain has been largely forgotten as an international power. The web page on “The Ships of Tarshish” shows how Britain’s naval power declined during the period. Over this period Britain has become known for its pop music where innumerable bands and singers have sung “many songs” and the end of the seventy years will be marked by an outpouring of music. Unfortunately Britain will now return to her harlotry. That is, her promotion of sexual immorality and her love of money. A harlot is someone who takes money for sexual favours.

However it is not all bad for Britain. Remember in the New Testament the harlots and the publicans were the ones who accepted Jesus.

[Mat 21:31-32 KJV] 31 Whether of them twain did the will of [his] father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen [it], repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

By an act of His grace God will somehow save the nation. Isaiah 23:17 says that at the end of seventy years the LORD shall visit Tyre. We can expect an outpouring of His Spirit on the nation despite its sinfulness. Eventually the wealth that the nation has stored up will be returned to the Lord.

[Isa 23:18 KJV] 18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

Queen Elizabeth, in her life, showed us all how to get along. By showing respect for each other. More than that she remained faithful to her Lord Jesus Christ. Eventually the true King Jesus will return and the world will pay Him homage. In the lead will be the ships of Tarshish (Britain), a wicked nation saved by the grace of God.

[Isa 60:9 KJV] 9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
