These charts take the Saxon words for various kinds of dragon mentioned in the Beowulf epic and demonstrate that there is a dinosaur equivalent for each one. I have also included a description of dragons from a 7th Century encyclopedia called Etymologies written by Isidore of Seville a Hispano-Roman scholar, theologian, and archbishop of Seville.
